    Migraine Treatment in Petaluma

Migraines are caused by a neurological condition that can become debilitating if not treated. Classic migraine symptoms, which can last from hours to days, include visual auras, nausea and vomiting, sound and light sensitivity, and severe head pain.

From a neurofeedback perspective, migraines and other headaches are caused by the brain’s inability to flexibly regulate itself and its tendency to get stuck in both overpowered or underpowered patterns of neuronal firing. Migraines and other types of headaches can be triggered by a variety of things, including stress, hormones, weather changes, changes in sleep patterns, medications, caffeine, food sensitivities, and sensory stimulation (e.g., loud sounds).

Neurofeedback training is a highly effective, medication-free method for managing migraine headaches. I find that clients consistently respond positively to neurofeedback, usually within the first few sessions. Clients report that their headaches happen less frequently and, when they do, are less severe. Over the course of sessions, many clients experience a complete remission of their headaches.

If you are struggling with headaches, I hope you will reach out for a neurofeedback consult to discuss how I might be able to help.
